Bottom Quark Mass Determination from low-n Sum Rules
نویسنده
چکیده
We study the uncertainties in the MS bottom quark mass determination using relativistic sum rules to O(α2S). We include charm mass effects and secondary bb̄ production and treat the experimental continuum region more conservatively than previous analyses. The PDG treatment of the region between the resonances Υ(4S) and Υ(5S) is reconsidered. Our final result reads: m̄b(m̄b) = (4.20 ± 0.09) GeV. Talk given at QCD 03, Montpellier, France, 2-9 July 2003.

Bottom quark mass from QCD sum rules for the Υ system
* The talk presents an update of the bottom quark mass determination from QCD moment sum rules for the Υ system by the authors [1]. Employing the M S scheme, we find m b (m b) = 4.19 ± 0.06 GeV. The differences to our previous analysis will be discussed and we comment on the determination of the pole mass for the bottom quark.
متن کاملNNNLO determination of the bottom-quark mass from non-relativistic sum rules
The mass of the bottom quark can be determined with high precision from moments of the pair-production cross section σ(e+e− → bb̄) near threshold. We present the first complete NNNLO determination from non-relativistic sum rules, obtaining a bottom-quark mass of mPS b (2GeV) = 4.532 +0.013 −0.039 GeV in the potential-subtracted scheme. For the mass in the MS scheme we find mMS b (m MS b ) = 4.20...
متن کاملBottom Quark Mass from Υ Mesons: Charm Mass Effects
The effects of the finite charm quark mass on bottom quark mass determinations from Υ sum rules are examined in detail. The charm quark mass effects are calculated at next-to-next-toleading order in the non-relativistic power counting for the Υ sum rules and at order αs for the determination of the bottom MS mass. For the bottom 1S mass, which is extracted from the Υ sum rules directly, we obta...
متن کاملUncertainties in the MS Bottom Quark Mass from Relativistic Sum Rules
A detailed compilation of uncertainties in the MS bottom quark mass mb(mb) obtained from low-n spectral sum rules at order αs is given including charm mass effects and secondary bb̄ production. The experimental continuum region above 11.1 GeV is treated conservatively. An inconsistency of the PDG averages for the electronic partial widths of Υ(4S) and Υ(5S) is pointed out. From our analysis we o...
متن کاملBottom-quark mass from finite energy QCD sum rules
Finite energy QCD sum rules involving both inverse and positive moment integration kernels are employed to determine the bottom quark mass. The result obtained in the MS scheme at a reference scale of 10GeV is mb(10GeV) = 3623(9)MeV. This value translates into a scale invariant mass mb(mb) = 4171(9)MeV. This result has the lowest total uncertainty of any method, and is less sensitive to a numbe...
